Ayrton Eblé (b. 1994)  is a regular visitor to construction sites and is fascinated by the constantly shifting in-between areas of our public space. Through pseudo-archeological research and a strict focus on the shifting edges of urban residential areas, the city reveals itself to him as a constantly developing field of research. He documents this phenomenon through photography, building up an equally growing archive of visual material.

His artistic practice delves into the fabric of public space and how we navigate within it. Central to his work are questions about who can claim ownership of this space, who defines its boundaries, and which factors influence these rights.

Drawing inspiration from these phenomena, whether aesthetically or conceptually, work is created with a design-like approach. Through a synergy between studio work, on-site observation, and collective creative processes, Eblé has developed a symbiotic body of work that challenges our understanding of public space.

Eblé lives and works in Antwerp. He holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Sint Lucas Antwerp and has previously exhibited at the Festival van de architectuur 2023 at DE SINGEL, and participated in exhibitions at S.M.A.K., Kunsthal Gent, Extra City Antwerpen, Callewaert & Vanlangendonck Gallery, Pizza Gallery, Ponti Space, and Geukens and Devil. In January 2024, Eblé received the ‘Opkomend Talent’ scholarship from the Flemish government.
